Otter spotting

We’re a pretty lucky bunch here at Clayland Architects; our office is set in the heart of Thetford Forest, close to Lynford Hall and Lynford Waters. The arboretum adjacent our office is abundant with wildlife and is a popular spot for bird watching and getting back to nature.

We often have unusual visitors of the wild variety, including hawfinches, crossbills and even a snake or two! More recently there has been an otter dashing about the gardens, even today being spotted by the whole  architectural team on our way for a Christmas drink. These wild encounters have got us thinking about the projects which allow us to get back to nature. Below is one of our inspirations for this week on the synergy between architecture and the natural environment.

Los Terrenos, Mexico

This reflective holiday home by Mexican architect Tatiana Bilbao cleverly uses mirrored glass to blend into the woodland setting.
