Continuing on from our study of the Shared Space model by Hans Monderman, we have started research and development of the Home Zone concept. Basically this takes the principles of calming of main traffic routes and intersections in Shared Space, and transfers it to residential areas. We looked specifically at the Rapier Street development and Ravenswood estate in Ipswich where this concept was used in two different situations. More to follow soon...
